How we count what our customers save
Nothing counted yet. The number starts the moment a customer’s own rows give us something to add up.
We’re motivated by saving restaurants money, so we count it, and we count it the boring way. Every dollar in the number above comes from one of five lines, each computed from a customer’s own records every time the page loads. Nothing is stored, rounded up or projected forward. A venue sees its own version of this on its Reports page, line by line, with the same labels.
1. Software replaced
The tools a venue ran on before DocketBEO, times the whole months it has been with us, less what it pays us for those months. If the owner tells us what they paid, we use their number and label it your bill. If not, we use the low endof the vendor’s published price, labelled published price when it’s on the vendor’s own pricing page and estimatewhen only third parties quote it. A vendor with no public price and no bill is listed but counts for nothing. If a venue hasn’t told us what it replaced, this line, and the plan deduction, are both left out.
- OpenTable: $149/mo (estimate) — Basic $149 / Core $299 / Pro $499 + $1-1.50 per network cover, 2026 third-party
- Resy: $249/mo (estimate) — third-party, 2026
- Popmenu: $179/mo (estimate) — Starter $179 / Essentials $299 / Premier $499, 2026
- BentoBox: $49/mo (estimate) — third-party, 2026 (takeout $49 + $0.99/order; site packages to ~$349)
- Owner.com: $249/mo (published price) — owner.com/pricing ($249 + 5% per order, or $499 flat)
- ChowNow: $119/mo (estimate) — third-party, 1/2026
- Perfect Venue: $239/mo (published price) — perfectvenue.com/pricing (monthly billing)
- Squarespace: $25/mo (published price) — squarespace.com/pricing (Basic / Core, monthly)
- Wix: $30/mo (published price) — wix.com plans (Core / Business, annual)
- Toast: $75/mo (estimate) — online ordering add-on, third-party 2026; Toast doesn't publish it
2. Per-cover fees not paid
Seated covers that booked through the venue’s own website, times $0.25. Booking on DocketBEO has no per-cover fee. Labelled assumption. Source: OpenTable: $0.25 per cover booked through your own website (Basic plan, 2026). We use the lowest rate OpenTable publishes (its network covers cost $1–1.50), and we count seated covers only, not bookings.
3. Commission not paid on pickup
The food-and-drink subtotal of paid pickup orders on the venue’s own page, times 11.2%: the lowest published delivery-app commission (15%, DoorDash Basic commission, 15% (merchants.doordash.com, 10/2026)) less the card fees the venue pays on its own orders instead (3.8%, Stripe on a typical order). Labelled assumption. Tax is left out; so are orders the venue didn’t get paid for.
4. No-show fees recovered
Fees actually charged to a card on file when a party didn’t show, in dollars, as they were charged. Real money, labelled real money. No assumption in this line.
5. Platform fees not paid on event payments
Deposits and balances collected online for private events through the venue’s own Stripe account, times 2%. DocketBEO adds no platform fee to those payments. Labelled assumption. Source: OpenTable Experiences: 2% on prepaid bookings (2026).
What we leave out
- Time saved. Real, but not dollars we can count.
- Revenue a venue earned (a filled table, a bigger order). That’s theirs, not a saving.
- Anything from a demo or a test account.
- Projections. The number is what has happened since each venue joined, nothing after today.
The small print
Prices were researched in October 2026 and vendors change them; where we know a price only from third parties we say so. Each line’s label (real money, your bill, published price, estimate, assumption) travels with it, and the counter says what share rests on assumptions. If you run a restaurant and your numbers look different, tell us what you paid on Settings › Billing and the counter uses your bill instead. The raw total is at /api/public/dollars-saved.
